With special thanks to GGBA Member David Perry (David Perry & Associates) and Phi Walker, Chair of MAX SF, board members of the GGBA had the distinct pleasure of meeting, and getting to know, Crown Prince Manvendra Singh Gohil of India. Prince Manvendra is a world-leader, human rights activist, and humanitarian.
Prince Manvendra is the heir apparent to the Gohil royal family of Rajpipla, Gujarat. He is also the only royal in India to have come out as gay. Ten years since coming out in 2006, Prince Manvendra is now a prominent voice for LGBT rights internationally. The Indian ambassador to nonprofit AIDS Healthcare Foundation, his days are now spent travelling around the country to spread awareness about HIV.
“The work that the Prince is doing in India is truly amazing” stated GGBA President Dawn Ackerman. “He is incredibly intelligent, courageous, visionary and committed to the health and well-being of the LGBT communities in India. It was a heartwarming and inspiring evening” she added.
