Historic day: SBA kicks off national LGBT outreach in San Francisco

The U.S. Small Business Administration kicked off a national outreach program to increase opportunities for LGBT-owned businesses in San Francisco on Monday.

"This is personal to me," SBA Administrator Maria Contreras-Sweet said in a speech to LGBT business owners gathered at PG&E's (NYSE: PCG) auditorium Monday afternoon. She recalled coming to the United States from Mexico at a young age as part of a family of migrant workers. "My grandmother kept saying to me, 'Bring others along.' "
