WE ARE THE NEW GGBA.
Building LGBTQ+ economic power since 1974. Here’s our story, our people, and where we’re going. A world where LGBTQ+ businesses thrive without limits. Equal access to markets, capital, contracts, and community. Where identity is never a barrier — and always a strength.
OUR STORY
BUILDING BUSINESSES &
CHANGING LIVES SINCE 1974
The Golden Gate Business Association was founded in 1974 as the first LGBTQ+ chamber of commerce in the United States — a radical act at a time when LGBTQ+ people had few legal protections and almost no institutional economic support.
Fifty years later, we’ve grown into one of the most active LGBTQ+ business networks on the West Coast. Our members represent every industry, from solopreneurs to multi-million-dollar companies.
We connect members with each other, with corporate partners, and with the resources they need to grow — through programming, certification, advocacy, and community.

What excites me most about GGBA right now is the energy behind what we’re building together. This organization has a 50-year legacy and its best chapter is ahead.
